Another try at the pool
Yesterday the weather was beautiful and I took a lot of walks, so that was nice. I rescheduled my gym appointment to today, but of course I wish I had just went already. :/ I prefer the 7am time, but this week I have to go at 10am because Brandon is out of town on a work trip. I hate 10am because, with dropping the kids off at 8:30, it feels like I don't have much of a morning. Which I know is ridiculous -- working on not needing SO MUCH time to do literally anything.
Joan's friend offered to take her to supper sessions last night, which has become one of my least favorite things since Dory became mobile. It's really a sweet event, where they close the main drag (literally steps from our house) and the neighborhood restaurants put tables out in the street. Maybe by the time Dory is 5 I'll want to go again? But anyway it was nice for Joan to get to go with her best bud.

Before that I packed up the swim stuff so we could head to the pool right after I picked the girls up from camp. Speaking of camp, I emailed the director to find out if we should just pull Dory out (she is having a TOUGH time and it hurts my heart that she's so upset). But at pickup she told me she only had to go to the nurse once today (they literally send her to the nurse for 'reprieve' if they can't get her to stop crying and she had been going up to 4 times a day 🥺). So I think we'll wait and see until Friday.
Pool went a lot better. I had a "two treats only" rule and that seemed to work great. Joan even said she would save her second treat for supper sessions. I packed a dinner (watermelon, cheese, crackers, carrots and pepperoni) which was moderately successful. Dory ate only the watermelon, and Joan had none at the pool but ate all the crackers, cheese, and pepperoni in the car on the way home. (I know it sounds like she'd be eating at supper sessions, but it's more like bounce house, face painting, and treats if you are a kid -- we always feed our kids beforehand so we don't hemorrhage money and spend the whole time arguing about how much dinner they have to eat to get a treat).
